Looks like money talks, greedy members of congress will get rich, and the people will lose. What the f...? It all makes me feel like the Democrats are bought, the republicans are crazy, and we're all just dummies sitting on the sidelines watching the show. It may be time for me to back away from politics and just protect my family. Thank you very much for trying!!

I am so happy Pres. Obama has signed off on this trade sanction. I was nearly killed in an auto/truck accident in june of '07 by a chinese commercial tire that blew up on a dumptruck next to my car on an interstate. Has anybody else been noticing the amount of shredded tires laying by the sides of our roads? I know it can happen but it sure seems to me since we shipped all the tire manufacturing out of the country its sure gotten worse. I think we need to decide, cheap or quality. Made overseas, or right here.

We definitely need health care reform with a public option but there are some items that need to be part of a final bill including (1) common sense tort reform (2) freedom to offer higher deductible options (3) privacy protection in smart cards, computerization, etc. (4) maximum competition across state lines, (5) real cost containment with built-in incentives for cost savings, etc. Everyone is disgusted with extreme right wing lunatics shouting people down and spouting lies at town hall meetings, on talk shows or in Congress but we do need to listen to common sense ideas from all sides in the debate.

Health care reform needs a true single-payer public health care option. This is the only way we will reduce health care costs and achieve universal coverage. Huge savings can be achieved through prevention, computerization, standardization of records, smart cards, full access to generics, etc. A single-payer public health care option should not have to be subsidized by taxpayers. The United States spends far more per capita on health care than any other country in the world but we are lagging far behind in the health of our people. Doing nothing about health care reform is inexcusable since doing nothing will further decrease our competitive advantage in the world and health care cost increases will continue to far exceed our ability to pay. We must get health care reform with a public option done now! Health care reform without a public option is no reform at all and we might as well forget it.

Insurance companies make enormous profits from health problems of the American people by charging more, cherrypicking and denying claims. They have devastated the American people with bankruptcy in record numbers. Special interests such as insurance companies, hospitals, drug companies have made obscenely large contributions to corrupt Republicans (and even a few influential Democrats) to maintain the current dysfunctional system that will soon destroy our country. We cannot trust the insurance industry to cut costs without a public health care option providing some honest competition.

Ed,
The republican party is not only delusional they are really out of control.
It is truly a sad day when the Republicans say money is more important then good health. I guess it is easy for them to say that when they have a great health care plan that is paid for by "We the people".
The only reason the republicans are in an uproar over the public option is because they will not be able to get the kickbacks from the lobbyists. I guess greed is the moive behind screwing the people of this nation.
The health care system in this country is in shambles and the republicans have reduced health care dollars and profits.
It is time for the american public to vote on this matter since the congress has deadlocked and the republican are crying like little children. The temper tantrums have stalled progress long enough. What needs to be done is that "We the people" need to have a special vote on the public option. Once the vote has been counted by an independent auditing company. Then the results should be reported to the We the American people" and then sent to the congress with what we the people demand.
This is necessary for we the people to have a say our health care.
Wall Street has destroyed many a economy. How much does it take for people to wake up and say enough.
Control the congress is not what is needed.
China is not responsible fro putting people out of work. The government went ahead and decided out sourced jobs. You cannot blame the Asian community for that.
The reason american companies went to China was for cheap labor and substandard materials. The chinese people did exactly what american wanted. Let us look at who is behind the problem tiresand other products. Its not the Chinese who tried to make substandard products, those people were told by the old boy network of crooked american business men who decided profits were more important then safety and a good product.
Why is this man from the union blaming the chinese people for the sub standard products. It was Regan the republican president who dismantled the unions. You cant blame the chinese people for taking the opportunity.
Why disrupt a family reunion with killing grandma and guns and hoping the president dies like kennedy. What ignorance have you displayed. I hope you are proud of yourselves.
Racism and the republicans go hand in hand.
Why not just be honest you hate Mr Obama because he is black and the president. You are afraid of black people because of your own ignorance.

We are "screwed" again without a kiss!!!! Our government is not responsive to the people and both parties are bought and paid for especially Sen. Baucus.
I am not voting at all any more!!!!

open letter to President Obama,

What good are the amazing reforms you have created if the cost of health insurance remains out of reach to the common people?
There must be a cost control device that is not associated with or created by the health insurance cartel. this device must create fierce competition for them and it must provide the same product at a seriously lower cost.
This is the public option, the second best choice for protecting the public (and thereby our economy) from financial disaster.
The first and best choice would be the single payer system. medicare for all.
The next thing that should be addressed is the perverse amount of money being spent  by the health insurance cartel to purchase members of government. If they can spend 1.5 million per day to destroy americans and their families they can pay a serious tax to give a little back to help fund the new system.

I am aware that you have stated that the public option is just a small part of the health reform package.
It is painfully obvious that the public option is necessary for your reform to work. in fact it is the most important part of the package.
I strongly urge you to resist allowing it to be removed from the bill you sign. In fact i urge you to veto any bill that does not have it.

respectfully,

dd

Ed, you buffoon!! The sign read BURY OBAMACARE WITH KENNEDY!!! You have once again proven yourself to be intellectually dishonest. You, and the other idiots such as Keith Olbermann, Rachel MadCow and the like should try and report important news items as opposed to trying to minimize people who disagree with your neo marxist agenda. How did the whole ACORN thing slip by ya? spending the last week or so on your kneepads praising Barry O?! But hey, if I ever see you out and about....I'll buy ya a drink. Vinegar and water, right? Douchebag!!!

Please read the sign that you commented on at the end of your show. It says 'Bury ObamaCARE with Kennedy' not just Obama. That is a huge difference. Now you've mislead people into thinking that it was a reference to killing Obama.

Back in the 60s, 70's and 80's when I was managing radio and or TV, Mr. Shultz, you would have been fired for the way you manipulated that sign. However, all through the show, it is just about the same, where has the integrity in broadcasting gone?

When nothing matters except your neo-facist-communist agenda, then one day when they take over, you will be one of the first to meet their execution squad. It has always been that way and so it will be in the future.

You, sir are as un-American as is possible to be. I feel sorry for you and your ilk, but your day in the pits of hell are coming.

It's unfortunate but not surprising that you're aliterate Ed. And please, before you think you're literate while really showing that you're semi-illiterate by claiming I'm illiterate, get a good unabridged dictionary and look up the word aliterate. By the way, I'm being alliterative.

In any event, unlike all too many liberals I'll back up the foregoing with facts. You said that the sign said "Bury Obama with Kennedy" when it actually said "Bury ObamaCare with Kennedy." But I guess that as a true liberal demagogue you don't see the difference, understand the difference, or care about the difference.

By the way, the 9/12 movement isn't solely about healthcare as you also implied. The Tea Party movement is about excessive government taxation and the diminishing of our constitutional rights, which includes the Second Amendment to name one of the nine that isn't intact anymore. And while you may believe Obama's lies, the GBO said the Healthcare REFORM as the Democrats envisaged the pig in a poke that the senate doesn't want people to have the time to read would definitely raise taxes on the average household.

One last thing. You imply all those in the demonstrations against Obama are violent nut jobs, yet the only arrests at rallies have been those of ACORN and SEIU "patriots" attacking peaceful demonstrators. My, my, I guess you believe that these "patriots" should be cracking open nuts, right?

Holy cow. What is wrong with all of you? The public option is the worse thing that can happen to this country! The public option is just a step towards single payer plan. The governemnt doesn;t care about health care reform, they only care about maintaining their power! How you all can willfully give up your inalienable rights to a corrupt government is beyond belief! What eveidence do you have of the government ever doing anything for anybody without taking more power from us, the people? The government's social programs have an unfunded debt of over 60 trillion dollars. The government's job is to protect us from enemies, foreign and domestic. They're now the domestic enemy. And you are all giving into them!
