Pawlenty Walks Back Romney's DREAM Veto Promise
posted by Ed Staff | Monday, June 18, 2012

Despite a flat out promise to Veto the DREAM Act during the Republican primary, Mitt Romney doesn't seem as willing to take a hard stand anymore. Surrogate Tim Pawlenty went on CNN this morning in an attempt to walk back Romney's promise to veto the DREAM act if he becomes President. Since you can't walk back a statement made by your own candidate, Pawlenty tried to muddy the issue by splitting hairs, saying "There are a lot of things labeled the DREAM Act, Soledad, so we have to be careful." Watch it.

Another Mitt Romney Etch-a-Sketch moment..............Tim Pawlenty has been auditioning for VP since he quit in Iowa....that would make a TWO EMPTY SUITES GOP TICKET!

miblue,

here's what I'd love to see-- Hilary vs the GOP in 2016. Talk about an ass kicking. She is so far above most of them in intelligence and experience it will be no contest.

I really do believe we will see a woman President in my lifetime. Might as well be Hilary. While I haven't always been real fond of "Billary", in a contest with the GOP, they would get my total support.

When the man who couldn't get any percent and ended his campaign before it began is the surrogate for the candidate who never got more than 25% of the primary vote in any state it is a sign of political impotence. To stir in the Donald, Newtie, and Sanitorium team members as surrogates is political dysfunction that needs a viagra style drug - too bad it's not on Phizer high ROI list - yet. He'll need a couple billion to sell this idea flacid campaign. Think 2016 GOP

If I remember right mittens said the states should pass laws that will make all illegals leave the country. I bet if he is elected he will even bet President Obama on deportations only if he isnt starting another war.....

just my humble view

Same old same old Tea Party approach. Say what people want to hear and then Bam! Hit the people with what you really planned on doing all along. The GOP is a very exclusive club which most of the Americans are not allowed in. They fooled people in the past but now it is more difficult to do so. We see how the GOP run states are enacting radical exclusive laws drafted by ALEC. That is probably why the Mitt and the rest of the GOP are tapping softly.

Obama just needs to keep the leads he has and stay close to Willard until the end of the conventions. Once the national debates start where the entire country independents, republicans, and democrats alike, Mitt will not be able to hide behind anything any the whole world will watch as he is forced to give up positions and explain his back peddling.

Nothing but pandering to the Latino vote. But I am sure the Latinos will remember what Romney said in the debates about "self deportation."
