Romney Still Won't Accept Dollar in Taxes for 10 in Cuts
posted by Ed Staff | Sunday, June 17, 2012

Mitt Romney appeared on Face the Nation with Bob Shieffer and reiterated the position he held during the Republican Primary -- that he would not accept a 10 to 1 deal with one dollar in new taxes for every ten dollars in cuts to government programs.

Yes, this is just what we need in a President isn't it? A man with more allegiance to ideology and Grover Norquist than the good of the American people. Watch it.

Of course he doesn't want to take a dollar out of his Swiss bank account to pay taxes for each $10 he stole from the US economy - it could add up to millions. Besides, what did America ever do for Mitt or Grover Norquist?

Romney supports the Ryan budget plan that would gut Medicare and many other government programs working and middle class people need. Seniors would see their premiums rise by $6,000 annually under the Ryan budget plan that would make Medicare a voucher plan. Romney also wants to make the expensive Bush tax cuts for the wealth PERMANENT. This fact alone would add at least $3.4 trillion to the budget deficit from 2009 to 2019. The Ryan budget that Romney endorses will do nothing but butcher programs middle class and working class people need while making the budget deficit permanent. We can not afford the Bush tax cuts or the Ryan budget plan.

Once again Romney said NOTHING. He also told a lie about government getting bigger. The public sector has been losing jobs while the private sector has been adding jobs for the last 27 months. He continues to insist that only by cutting can we have growth in our economy which makes NO sense at all. Only the wealthy and large corporations claim that government is getting bigger because they do not want to pay their fair share of taxes. Also, I do not know where the reduction of government to 20% is coming from especially when he and the GOP want to increase defense spending so they can fight more wars. In the past he talked about not touching the safety net for the poor. Where does he expect to cut to get to the 20%? The Paul Ryan Plan which Mitt supports strongly cuts right into the safety net. So what Romney said is double talk and a bunch of BULL.
