Mitt Romney was asked last night how his administration would differ from the George W. Bush administration, but it was President Obama's response to the question that was most interesting.
"There are some things where Governor Romney is different from George Bush. George Bush didn’t propose turnnig Medicare into a voucher. George Bush embraced comprehensive immigration reform, he didn’t call for self-deportation. George Bush never suggested we eliminate funding for Planned Parenthood,” Obama said.
"In some ways [Romney]'s gone to a more extreme place when it comes to social policy, and I think that's a mistake," he added.
Man, the trolls were out in force yesterday trying their best to do damage control (futilely, I might add). The comment thread on every political site I read was filled with trolls projecting all of Robme's faults and flubs onto the President. Nobody was having any of it.

Of cource Romney is more extreme, than, GWBush. He is GWBush on steroids. He just talks like a salesman trying to sell, less than perfect goods, all the while trying to look moderate. He isn't even good at that. He gets up there and tries to come off looking like he is in the middle, because that is what the undecideds are, moderates. He continues to lie about what he did in Massachusetts. I saw someone from the Boston Globe on one of the shows a couple of days ago, and they have researched Romney's, record as Governor there. They told Chris Mathews, or somebody, that 800 different bills tried to get through the Massachisetts state Legislature, when Romney was Governor, and he vetoed 700 of them. Later when Deval Patrck was elected that same legislature, had to begin to overturn all of that one by one, to fix the damage that Romney did to that state. Funny, that noone ever talks about any of that. Its also funny that Romney, did such a swell job, that he didn't run again. Belly laugh funny! I have stated on here before, that we as a country are in the 24-7 news cycle, and are more interested in the 4 second sound bite-gottcha thing than the real truth. How, very sad!

Watched as much of the debate as I could stomach. Thought President Obama did real well and Rmoney was as rude, obnoxious, and annoying as ever. I usually left the room when Rmoney was speaking and came back for Obama. Loved the "how are you not like Bush question?" and watching mittens squirm on that one.
This morning my niece posted on facebook. She is Texas born and raised with Jesus on her side. She posted twice during the debate that Obama was lying about "everything" while Rmoney ( the non Christian OMG) is telling the truth, 7 likes and positive comments on that, and one today whining about the "news" saying Obama won the debate.. 8 likes for that, no comments.. All while she collects social security for one child whose father died, child support for one child, state aid for the other two, 4 kids, four dads.. Rmoney thinks she is scum... what an idiot.

Mitt can join the Grover Norquist' "I hate my government" Senate GOP Choir with his seriously conservative soul. Besides, Grovie said that all he needed was a President with 5 digits that can sign the legislation that his Congressional Flying Monkey Review will introduce on behalf of ALEC. Too bad Ann Colter nailed the outcome 9 months ago. The roadside sign in Minnesota asking if the GOP misses W yet takes on new meaning with the Romney revolution. If the GOP can pull itself out of the extremist gutter and make it to their knees perhaps they can make it to their feet and enter a greed addiction recovery program.

President Obama got things in order to get reelected last night. The Democrats who were biting their nails about his performance in the first debate should be relieved about his performance in the second last night. Watch the poll numbers solidify behind President Obama in Ohio and other swing states in coming days. President Obama was too much of a gentleman in the first debate not expecting Romney to turn himself into a pathological liar. I think President Obama was prepared to debate the "severely conservative" Romney but instead the "moderate" Romney showed up instead. The "moderate" Mitt Romney in the general election seems to be trumping the "severely conservative" Romney during the GOP primary race.
I never really felt President Obama performed all that badly in the first debate. He did not confront Romney about his lies which he did last night in the second. But in the first debate President Obama made no major substantive or factual errors that would haunt him later on. Howard Dean said the first debate was not that awful for President Obama because when you looked at what he actually said about substantive issues he was the same President Obama we all know. He often was bested by Hillary in the 2008 race during debates but he still ended up on top in the end. The Obama ground campaign game will win this election not high school or college debate points.
Romney acted the way Romney always does. He acted like a bullying CEO. He will stop at nothing to close the deal, while saying anything or doing anything to get the deal done. Romney last night showed the last race where a white candidate tries to appeal to mainly white conservative voters. We are watching the last of a dying political tradition. The GOP is currently headed toward oblivion in coming years if they do not change as a party. The GOP needs to move away from the conservative Christian right winged Tea Party and find a new formula for the future. There just are not enough old angry white people to keep the Republican party vibrant in the changing demographics of the 21st century. The GOP party is deeply fractured between the moderates who are being driven out and the radical right winged Tea Party. This problem bodes ill for our political system rising up to deal with the problems our country faces during the 21st century.
I write about this for a reason. The Democrats are unlikely to get the House this election. I am hoping they will but the realist in me tells me we may very well have two more years of Speaker Boehner. Its very difficult for one party in the United States to control the White House and both chambers of Congress for any length of time. The problem is that the GOP used to be a party of moderate to liberal centrists who really wanted to get things done for the country. Compromise right now is almost equivalent to treason but compromise is essential towards getting anything done in a democracy. I wonder if the GOP will be chastened enough after its defeat in November to want to work with President Obama in his second term? Is it possible that a new coalition could be formed between moderate Republicans and Democrats to push through centrist bills that can make it to President Obama's desk for signature or will gridlock prevail?
I am not sure the country can take another two more years like the last two years. The problems with our infrastructure, energy, education system, and health care all need more attention with long term solutions. The Affordable Care Act needs to get fully implemented. For the sake of our kids we need to make sure that the Tea Party dies a quick death this November. The country needs centrist solutions that can get passed into law not more GOP right winged radicalism that stops everything in its tracks. The Indians and the Chinese are going to kick our economic butts if we do not get our political act together and get behind President Obama's centrist proposals. We have huge problems to fix here in the homeland and we damn well better get on with fixing them.

President Obama showed what a true american president looks and acts like. Romney ran over Candi Crowley, he even said No candi......when she was trying to move to another topic. Talk about a baby in the sand box throwing sand...Romney was doing it.
I noticed the woman who said to the president....I voted for you last time....tell me why i should vote for you again...( or something close to that) at the end she and Ann Romney were hugging and kissing...friend of the family?

Romney would privatize Social Security and make Medicare a voucher system. Medicaid and public education funding would be at risk. Jobs would be exported to lower wages countries or he would encourage US companies to lower wages by killing unions. We would become a corporate entity instead of a democracy because of Mitt's application of the Bain business model. The divide between the 1% and the rest of us would widen even more. If Mitt were elected President, more evasion of countries would be possible. Bush neocons are his foreign advisers and they never saw a war they did not like.

The sad part is, so many right wingers are not voting on truth, facts or even issues. They are voting on their hate and racism for this President. That becomes very evident when you can show several sites that prove it a lie and they still wont believe it. I see it on several blogs I go to. I don't remember ever hearing that much hate and racism in my life. It's sickening, but true.
