A Randi Rhodes listener stated that if President Obama had beat him up in the first debate, the funders of Romney would have thrown much more of their deep pocketed money to the House and Senate races to upset them (much more than they already have). As a result of the President keeping his cool, it can help to run the clock down before election day. The RepubliCONS know they have a flawed candidate in Mitt, and as Thom Hartmann did, the day after the debate, he played Carter/Reagan's debate and Obama/RawMoney's debate and found them to be eerily similar!! As long as the Team Obama can circumvent the lying attempts to defraud the uniformed Americans, they'll be okay. Our friend, Big Eddie, believes in taking your opponents head off when necessary, unfortunately, President Obama doesn't seem to have that trait. I love Ed's approach, but I know a lot of people like President Obama. I am more like Ed, when the situation calls for it, but I understand the President's rationale for doing so. I don't think he'll be as passive as he was during the next two debates.

It is simple

Mittens won the debate because the people today are not good at listening

I would call it a draw

He had the energy but when you listen to mittens he says nothing

Obama did not have the energy but had the substance

The 27 lies he spouted off during the debate will really hurt him

He took the short view and not the long term view, he has to live with his words and they will come back to bite him.

OHIO SECRETARY OF STATE LOSES TO JUDGE IN ATTEMPT TO END EARLY VOTING THE WEEKEND BEFORE THE ELECTION!!

This guy Husted is a piece of work. He was going to only allow military to vote early the weekend before the election! How transparent is that?? A judge has ruled otherwise. Everyone knows that many people cannot take off on a weekday to vote in the election, especially working class. Of course the GOP powers that be in Ohio know this and they know most of the working class will tend to vote Democratic. Their little plan of systematically dismantling the voting rights of Americans is crumbling before their eyes state by state as all these devious plans are exposed for what they are.

Sorry to be so long winded this morning but if you go to the electoral map website, scroll down after and read some of the stuff there. Pretty interesting stuff about Romney and how "bipartisan" he really was as Governor of Mass. Also some interesting stuff about how good a business man he really is. Makes me wonder why in the world he would have wanted to be governor of a heavily leaning Democratic state in the first place. It's like this man's ego just won't let go, he keeps wanting to go higher and higher in the political spectrum not to help people or make a difference in people's lives, but purely for ambition.

Romney has flipped flopped ..........again. This time on his hard nosed immigration policy he talked on the primary campaign trail. In an attempt to woo Latino voters he claims, "The people who have received the special visa that the President has put in place, which is a two year visa, should expect that visa would continue to be valid". Mitt the moderate. Who IS this guy? I really don't think there is a real Mitt Romney. He is an absolute political Ho who will say anything at any given time to appease whoever he is talking to at the moment. Who is going to do his thinking for him on Foreign policy?

If you get a chance take a look at the electoral map at

http://www.electoral-vote.com

I have an issue with some of the states they are putting in the Dem win column, especially Wisconsin. I mean, after all , they re-elected Walker.

It's too early to get overly confident, but even if you give Romney half the undecided electoral votes he cannot win. The solidly Democratic states' electoral votes give Obama the win anyway. Even in the Senate races we are winning.

Those fundraisers knew what this map looked like weeks ago which is why they were ready to throw Romney under the bus. But perception beats reality for so many when it comes to voting. Their camp actually thinks their candidate "won" the debate. To me, that's like saying we are "winning" in Afghanistan. Exactly what did Romney win last Wednesday night? He won a lying race, that's what. His arguments have already been picked apart and he was debating himself, not the President. Everything he said was contradictory to the statements he made days and weeks ago. People are just not this stupid. I give the American people more credit than this.

Folks, as we all know this race just like the last one and the primary in 2008 all come down to the electoral votes. We can tweak the percentages endlessly but at the end of the day it is the electoral votes that elect the President. Hilary learned a hard lesson in that too. So will Mitt. The last I saw the President was winning that race. Romney literally stole the primary from Ron Paul through intimidation and bullying of his supporters and delegates. He is now trying to run that play again through debates, voter intimidation and i.d. laws, and outright lying to the American people about whether or not an i.d. is needed at the polls. And outright voter fraud in those 5 states where their favorite conman Nathan Sproul was set to register thousands of Democrats then summarily tear up their voter registrations and trash them. Thank you Rachel Maddow for putting PA in its place. Even after a judge had struck down the i.d. law, they still had a recording on their voter information line that one was required to vote in this election.

I keep harking back to the famous JFK speech in which he said what good does it do to try and preserve our Democracy if its traditions do not survive with it. Voting is the most basic fundamental right we have in this nation, it trumps everything else. It is what keeps the power in the hands of the people. We have been watching that slowly erode over time to the point we are having to take to the streets in protest to get people to wake up.

For the record every place I looked that are independent fact checkers said romney had 27 lies in 38 minutes. The president had a few mini lies as I call them as they were based on what many had said before about romney's plans.

I watch the debate and romney to me was a bully and even if I was a gop person I would have seen this. That man has no respect for the system that he and his people agreed to. His bullied and lied his way to a so called victory in debate #1. The people who feel that other got his due are happy that romney was the winner, and in the next debate I just hope the person who is running it will tell mittens to sit down and shut up. Let him know who is running the show and it isnt mittens.

The president needs to come out and tell facts, and speak to the people like he does on the campain trail.

just my humble views

I don't understand how people can put more "importance" on "show" than substance. When has anybody seen a setting President in a debate, other than the campaign? I was clear President Obama had a better knowledge of the impotant issues. I was clear the Romney lied. Everything he said is the opposite of what he's been saying for the last year.

Will the real Mitt Romney please come forward? But we still wouldn't know if it was real.

We play the Jets on Monday night football. We'll try not to beat up on em too bad after their loss last weekend.

blueb--Let's hope the next debate has a completely different format, and when are they going to let the audience ask some questions, or do it like Anderson Cooper did and let people ask questions via the internet in real time.

I just felt like there was something unspoken going on Wednesday night. The President I really do think had a reason for taking the approach he did. He is a thinking man there is no doubt about it. Romney allows others to think for him because he is incapable. I still want to know what that was he tossed up on his podium after the rules said no notes. People are trying to say it was a hankie, not buying it. It bounced after he tossed it. Hankies don't bounce.
