Romney: 'No One Ever Asked to See My Birth Certificate'
posted by Ed Staff | Friday, August 24, 2012

Mitt Romney was spreading it on thick on the campaign trail in Michigan today. Speaking to a crowd in Commerce, Romney said "No one’s ever asked to see my birth certificate. They know that this is the place that we were born and raised."

The candidate, who's been quite chummy with birther king Donald Trump, got loud cheers for the comment from the assembled Republicans. Watch it.

If Mitty were merely “joking”, he would have immediately said so, along with a statement that he knows the President IS a U. S. citizen as John McCain did in 2008.

You know the dishonor of a cowardly insult when the joker plays the “I was just kidding” card.

Romney, you even fail at comedy, if that was your intention.

Now we have Mitt the Comedian who entertains his troops. I have a feeling that he's going to be a puppet as Bush was as Cheney and the war hawks took us into wars. Romney will let Ryan and the tea baggers call all the shots. He's like an empty suit and totally inept to be president.

Just keep calling the Repubs Medicare proposals: "Voucher Care". That should sink in.

Paul Ryan is Ending the Current Medicare program if he gets his way & starting a completely different program but keeping the name Medicare...............ending it as we know it & replacing it with something completely different..........how can you be that stupid Politifact to not understand that????????????????? Ending the Current Program, not the same Medicare I paid into my entire life & replacing it with a completely different THING called Medicare only in name..............what is inaccurate about that??????

Change of Subject:

Politifact is lying when they say this when they are talking about the lie of the year in 2011. (Since then, Democrats have altered their line to add this qualifier: "as we know it.")..........@ Poitifact: that is a complete lie to say "since then"...........the truth is President Obama clearly stated "as we know it" on day one when he talked about the Ryan Budget & repeatedly stated "as we know it" prior to your inaccurate 2011 lie of the year mistake..................you just chose to omit "as we know it" when you made your bogus analysis in 2011................it has always been the main point that it is not fundamentally the same program that we have been paying into our entire lives..........it is completely structured differently & only resembles Medicare in name & just because you keep the name Medicare doesn't make a similar program under the Ryan budget..........still called Medicare only in name, but is completely something else "like comparing apples to oranges" just fruit but completely different.

Funny here, PBS last night had 2 people who have been to a delegation convention talk about what to expect...both woman had been to previous conventions 1 was GOP going to this one & the 2nd was a woman who had been to the Dem convention in 2008....I didn't catch the name of the dem? The GOP woman is a state senator, much hated by the anti walker people and a walker go to woman...living in a state GOP strong hold. She faced a recall but kept her seat (damn!)

They started with her, what to expect of the up coming convention...she talked about the fun going to dinners and stuff. then interviewed the,event..wish i would have caught her name(she was great! I would vote for her if she runs for anything! out of wausau wi)

she began saying how great she remembered the 2008, how historic it was and the point at which Hilary stood up and said to stop the count I cede the nomination to Obama(it looked like he had it) brought tears to the dem womans eyes. And how great it is to be, the commaradery, to be with all these other wisconsinites from all over the state

Think the interview is done?

the gop woman broke in when the interviewer thought he was done, having interviewed both....the gop woman broke in to say it was so great to be with all the other repubs in the nation and that WI was the home of 3 major speakers Prebius,Ryan & Walker that makes this convention especially meaningful for her.

Think its done yet?

The dem woman broke in to say the dems always left a park or something to thank a city for allowing them to have their convention their city

Think its done yet?

The GOP woman broke in to say something about GOP convention, i can't remember what it was...?

Think its done yet?

The Dem woman broke in to say some about Dem convention...AND SHE GOT THE LAST WORD. The interviewer firmly said we are out of time i have to thank you both....

<hehehe...>I love that dem woman!

Makes me think of the dem convention....I think they should have an Ayn Rand imitator with funny sketch...& i think they too should have a 'we built it ,which allowed you to build on it" we being "we the people"

Now I am so looking forward the bump president obama will get from the dem convention and the dem convention is THE LAST WORD before the debate...which also promises to be very good! <hehehehe...> i love how good obama is at debates!

I meant to say fronts from the north and the west, not east.

donnajoy, not only will they return to those policies, they will take us back to the 50s with personhood insanity and their wanting to literally do away with the EPA. I wonder if they have thought about the consequences of that. Where I live is a prime example of how corporations allowed to dump their toxic chemicals into the air and water can have tragic effects.

I grew up on Galveston Island and never saw a pelican, roseate spoonbill, or whooping crane until I was in my late teens or early 20s. DDT had nearly wiped them out. Were it not for people like Rachel Carson I might never have seen them in my lifetime. DDT was used to control the mosquito population. It also causes breast cancer. They have done the studies and proved the link.Oh they didn't quit making it, they now sell it to foreign countries either unaware or who don't care the fragility of the food chain or life itself. And they call themselves pro life.

I now see abundant pelicans, a roseate spoonbill once in a while and many of the cranes. They had to be put in bird sanctuaries for decades and allowed to breed free of the chemicals.

Then there is agent orange which took out a young family member of ours who was a Vietnam veteran.

The Democratic pacs need to be driving these points home.

Good to be back in Colorado and out of the blazing heat in southwest Texas that is frying the brains of the working poor. I am sure the Democratic party will manage to win back America in November. If the republicons do steal this election, those of us who don't want to live under the iron fist of fundamentalism and oligarchy will become refugees in another land.

TAX THE RICH.. mittens may have been "made in America" but not born. If he was human, he'd have a heart and soul.

Blueb,

The thing with hurricanes, the number one thing is the "storm surge". That is what causes more death and destruction than anything, oddly enough most think it is the winds but it isn't. The storm surge is caused by the force of the wind driving the water up and over the land from the sea. This is what caused the most deaths in Katrina and Ike. And also with Katrina the failure of the levees to contain the water.

Also the "northeast quadrant" of the storm seems to carry the biggest punch in destructive winds.

The thing is they can't afford to gamble on this. The storm can change directions on a dime depending on what the gulf stream is doing and what other fronts are coming in from the north and the east.
