Mitt Romney Senior Campaign Advisor Eric Fehrnstrom calls 'em like he sees 'em, even when it's a painful truth about his own employer. Appearing on CNN, Fehrnstrom was asked about Romney's far-right position hurting him in the general election. Fehrnstrom admitted Romney will just push the reset button on his positions in the fall... "almost like an Etch A Sketch. You can kind of shake it up and restart all of over again."
Linda, Houston: I am not sure what the GOP establishment is thinking especially after their suicidal episode against family planning and birth control. I would suspect that more mainstream Republicans are feeling kind of blue about their prospects come this November. The GOP prospects for 2016 are beyond my crystal ball. If its Jeb v. Hillary in 2016 is simply beyond what I would know about. No doubt mainstream parties know that its tough to beat an incumbent president when the trend lines are in his favor. The economy is getting better so as long as nothing major happens I am feeling better about 2012. I just hope that a new generation of young American women wake up to the GOP's onslaught against women's health. Hopefully, a new generation of young women can push us over the top to get a Medicare for all public option. This in my view is the only way we can compete ultimately against our competitors who have more efficient single payer systems. GM can not keep paying $1500 extra for healthcare per car just because our medical system is so expensive. So let's all hope we see more young women involved in Democratic politics because of the GOP's suicidal political war on women's health waged mostly by old grandfatherly men with white and silver hair.

Pat, it's those damned Midland freak locusts that the Bush family created in their evil laboratories during their oil days there!

Linda, you may be right, it's anybody's guess, alot can happen between now and then. She lost favor with me after the way she and her husband treated Obama during the nominating process in 08. I just dont' trust those two any more. Too Bilderberg.

Oh,Linda, I'll so be back in heaven...Colorado! Have fond memories of my days in Houston, it,s where I met my husband. West Texas is a long way from Houston! A woman wrote an op ed in the Odessa paper saying women shouldn't ask for free birth control! This is a woman who can obviously write a sentence! I just don't understand. But I must go inside, some big bug is raging at me.

Rex,
I saw something today on another blog that was interesting. It said the "owners" of the GOP already know that the election is lost.
They are now grooming Jeb Bush for a 2016 run. It sounds plausible given what is going on now and the tepid endorsement of Romney from Bush today.
Your thoughts?

Romney may have been an accomplished politician but he is damaged goods after this vicious primary. He has managed to offend women and many other men married to those women who are sort of in the middle on most social issues like birth control and family planning. The idiocy of being against family planning and birth control is an entire different animal from the abortion debate. It is one thing to dislike abortion but to be against family planning and birth control programs is simply absurd. 98% of all women use birth control at sometime in their lives. Actually this number could be closer to 100% of women. I do not understand the politics of this issue. The stupidity of the GOP has me utterly amazed.
I can not find a single thing wrong with Planned Parenthood. I am predicting that Romney will be another losing candidate for the GOP. President Obama will tear him to shreds in a debate on women's issues. The economy continues to get better so as long as the trend means declining unemployment Democrats should be okay in November. The Ryan budget itself should send Seniors in droves over to the Democrats. Medicare has problems but President Obama's Affordable Healthcare Act actually strengthens Medicare. The way to fix Medicare is to have a Medicare for all public option and raise the taxes on Social Security and Medicare up to at least $250,000 like Senator Sanders is promoting.
The Supreme Court will in all eventuality uphold the mandate that all Americans get health insurance. The interstate commerce clause has been upheld in civil rights cases from the 1950's and 1960's. Even this conservative Supreme Court can not undo 50 years of case law. So I think things are looking reasonably good for Democrats. We still need to work hard in Congressional and state elections to get Dems elected. But I think Romney will flip flop his way to defeat come November. I just can not see how middle class women will be voting for him after this GOP family planning and birth control fiasco. Young women are REALLY ANGRY at Mitt Romney about this birth control issue. The GOP will find out that making women angry means defeat in elections. Democrats need to work hard and many of these young women voters will become Democrats permanently. Where are those jobs bills Speaker Boehner? Can you say "Speaker Pelosi" in November?

Pat, hope things get better and you can soon live in hell and rent out Texas!
My cousin went to school at Ole Miss with Shepherd Smith, says he's really nice guy. How he ended up in that hell hole of journalism is beyond me.

Larry,
At first I thought the same thing about the Grand Jury. But that is only weeks from now, and there is new information being learned about this case every day, Lord knows what we'll find out next.
Also, you probably already know this but grand juries don't just meet to decide one case, there are a number that go under consideration.
I will be shocked beyond belief if they don't get an indictment in this case. Now the outcome at trial, who knows. Remember Casey Anthony, this is Florida, anything can happen.
