Less than 30 percent of Americans approve of the Republican tax plan according to a poll released Tuesday by Quinnipiac.
In the poll, taken before the Senate passed the GOP tax bill on Saturday, 64% of respondents said the bill benefits the wealthy the most, while 24% said they believe the middle class would see a benefit.
Twenty-nine percent of those surveyed said they approve of the plan as a whole.
Another 41% say they think the legislation would raise their taxes. Prior to the House passing the legislation, 35 percent said they thought they would see a tax increase.
