President Trump took issue with Sen. John McCain’s, R-AZ, opposition to the Graham-Cassidy Obamacare Repeal bill on Saturday, saying he “Let Arizona down.”
“John McCain never had any intention of voting for this Bill, which his Governor loves,” Trump said in a series of Tweets. “He campaigned on Repeal & Replace. Let Arizona down!”
Trump also accused McCain of taking the “sad” position of being on the same side as Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer, D-NY, while abandoning his friend, Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC.
“I believe we could do better working together, Republicans and Democrats, and have not yet really tried,” McCain said in his statement, explaining why he couldn’t support the legislation. “Nor could I support it without knowing how much it will cost, how it will effect insurance premiums, and how many people will be helped or hurt by it.”
