Trump Calls For Senate Republicans to End Filibuster After Obamcare Repeal Fails

President Trump on Wednesday called for Senate leadership to end the filibuster after he failed to win enough support in the higher chamber for the latest attempt to repeal and replace Obamacare.

“We will have the votes for Healthcare but not for the reconciliation deadline of Friday, after which we need 60. Get rid of Filibuster Rule!” Trump tweeted.

Senate Republicans failed to get 50 votes to repeal Obamacare this week. After September 30, the process will no longer be part of Budget Reconciliation, which will likely require 60 votes to follow through on a key campaign promise from Trump.
