Sen. Chris Murphy, D-CT, on Wednesday rebutted statements by Senate Republicans and President Trump that the latest effort to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act has protections for those with pre-existing conditions.
“This is a lie. A horrible knowing fabrication,” Murphy tweeted Wednesday evening. “The bill is intentionally constructed to force states to drop this protection.”

Murphy’s tweet came following a tweet from President Trump where he said he wouldn’t sign a bill that doesn’t include protections for those with Pre-existing conditions.
“I would not sign Graham-Cassidy if it did not include coverage of pre-existing conditions,” Trump tweeted Wednesday evening. “It does! A great Bill. Repeal & Replace.”
