President Trump on Thursday said Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnel, R-KY, could face issues if he doesn’t deliver on the White House’s key policy, such as repealing Obamacare, Tax Reform, and a comprehensive infrastructure package.
The President was asked by reporters in New Jersey whether he would call for McConnell to step down from his position and Trump said, “you can ask me that question” if the Majority leader fails to make moves on his agenda.
“Mitch, let’s get to work and let’s get it done,” Trump said.
“They lost by one vote,” he continued, referring to last month’s failure to repeal the Affordable Care Act. “For a thing like that to happen is a disgrace.”
Earlier in the week, McConnell criticized the President for his unrealistic expectations when it comes to legislation clearing Congress.
