Vice President Mike Pence on Sunday said rumors that he is working on a presidential run in 2020 were “laughable and absurd.”
“The American people know that I could not be more honored to be working side by side with a president who is making America great again,” Pence said via a statement.
The New York Times reported Sunday that several advisers to Prence claimed that he had been talking to donors about being ready to run in 2020 if Trump doesn’t launch a re-election bid.
The Vice President did raise $1 million for his political action committee in July according to a report from CNN.
“Whatever fake news may come our way, my entire team will continue to focus all our efforts to advance the president’s agenda and see him re-elected in 2020. Any suggestion otherwise is both laughable and absurd,” Pence added in his statement.
