Prior to President Trump’s scheduled rally in Arizona, Sen. Jeff Flake, R-AZ, told reporters that he is not concerned about the idea of the President supporting on of the Republican primary challengers to Flake in his 2018 re-election efforts.
“I don’t worry about it at all,” Flake told reporters in Arizona on Monday when asked about Trump’s comments about him on Twitter.
In a tweet last week, Trump said Flake was “Toxic” and called the Senator “weak” on immigration issues and crime. Trump also lauded Arizona State Senator Kelli Ward for launching a challenge to Flake.
Great to see that Dr. Kelli Ward is running against Flake Jeff Flake, who is WEAK on borders, crime and a non-factor in Senate. He's toxic!

Flake was asked about Trump’s support for Ward saying it was Trump’s “prerogative” if he wanted to endorse his opponent.
“That’s not my realm. That’s somebody else’s. I just — I’m running my own campaign. It’s going well. And what the president does, that’s his prerogative,” Flake said according to the LA Times.
