Sen. Ted Cruz, R-TX, said Congress needs to continue to work on legislation to repeal and replace the Affordable Care Act instead of taking the August Recess.
“It’s crazy that we’d be taking a recess. There’s a bunch of us, myself included, that have been urging leadership back from January, let’s not take any recesses,” Cruz said Monday evening during an appearance on Fox News
“Let’s work every day. Let’s work weekends. Let’s work until we get the job done.”
“We have a job to do and a short window of time, and so we ought to stop taking recesses, stop taking time off and just keep going until we get it done,” The Texas Senator added.
Senate Republicans will be briefed Tuesday on the revisions that have been made to their plan to repeal the healthcare law.
