Sen. Elizabeth Warren, D-MA, said Monday that those protesting conservative commentator Ann Coulter’s appearance at Berkley should “let her speak.”
“My view is, let her speak and just don’t show up. If you don’t like it, don’t show up,” Warren said in an interview with CNN.
Warren said that canceling someone like Coulter gives her a bigger platform.
“You know, look, Ann Coulter has gotten a bigger platform because someone tried to deny her a chance to speak,” the Massachusetts senator added.
Officials at the University of California-Berkley canceled a speech by Coulter due to concerns over security.
On Monday, the group that invited her to the university filed a federal lawsuit accusing the university of trying “to restrict conservative speech” on campus.
