Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-KY, said Wednesday that he agrees with President Trump’s Supreme court Nominee Neil Gorsuch that attacks on individual judges are “demoralizing.”
“I happen to agree with what [Gorsuch] said,” McConnell said on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.
“I mean I think, you know, criticizing members of the judiciary individually is not a good idea.”
Sen. McConnell did add that he was satisfied with Trump’s pick of Gorsuch to replace Justice Antonin Scalia, who passed away last year.
“I think the Supreme Court nominee was superb,” he said. “I think [Trump] picked the single most outstanding circuit judge in America to be on the Supreme Court.”
Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-CT, relayed last week that Gorsuch had said Trump’s attacks on a federal judge were “disheartening” and “demoralizing” during a meeting between the Senator and Judge.
